2025 MYLES HOLLANDER LECTURE

We will host our 6th Myles Hollander Distinguished Lecture on October 17th with Professor Rob Tibshirani as our distinguished lecturer!  Dr. Tibshirani is Professor of Biomedical Data Science and Professor of Statistics at Stanford. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and Fellow of the American Statistical Association, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, the Royal Society and the Royal Society of Canada. In 2021 he won the Founders of Statistics Prize from the International Statistical Institute. He is co-author of 5 important texts in statistical methods and data science. He recently (April 29, 2025) gave the keynote address at the Stanford Data Science Conference and was described as exemplifying data science at Stanford, being deeply engaged in methodology and applications spanning the university. Korwar Family Graduate Fellowship - F08765 (Created by 1972 Ph.D. graduate Ramesh Korwar to provide support for graduate students earning their degree(s) in the Department of Statistics. Funds shall be available to support scholarships, graduate stipends, cash awards, travel for professional purposes, research expenditures or equipment purchases.)

Fred W. Huffer Endowment for Excellence - F09628  (to provide scholarship awards to students with the best performance on their prelims/qualifying exams as determined by the department's awards committee.)

Myles Hollander Endowed Lecture Fund - F08867 (support for the Department of Statistics to host an endowed lecture once each academic year to benefit the students and faculty by focusing on modern topics).

Schluck Fund for Excellence -  F08651 (created by 2016 Ph.D.graduate Glenna Schluck to be used to support lectures, conferences, and special graduate seminars or colloquia presented by highly regarded visiting scholars).
