Beca Sechter Award
Beca Sechter (1897-1977), a Holocaust survivor from Romania, was a highly cultivated and open-minded person. This excellence award is presented to the top graduate teaching assistants working for mathematical statistics-related classes. The award comes with a certificate and a cash prize.
Best First-Year Graduate Student Award
This award is given to the top first-year student(s) in the categories of applied statistics, mathematical statistics and computational statistics. Winners receive a certificate and an extra $200 in travel funds for presenting at a conference.

Ralph A. Bradley Award
Ralph Allan Bradley, Ph.D. (1923–2001) was a highly influential statistician and statistics educator celebrated for foundational work in nonparametric statistics, experimental design, sequential analysis and multivariate analysis. He founded the FSU Department of Statistics and served as its chair from 1959 to 1978.This award is presented for the best Ph.D. dissertation of the year. Winners receive a certificate and a cash prize.
Stela Verenca Award
Stela Verencia (1923-2020), a Holocaust survivor from Romania, was an economist and great supporter of the FSU Department of Statistics. This is a travel award for students who present talks at a foreign conference in object data analysis-related sessions. The award comes with a certificate and a cash prize.
Yongyuan and Anna Li Award
This award is given to the student who gives the best presentation of the year. Winners receive a certificate and a cash prize.
