- Student presentation awards
The student paper/poster competition is open to all students. Students who submit an abstract for either a contributed talk or a poster and present at the conference will automatically be considered for the Student Presentation Award. To be eligible for this award, the candidate must have been a full-time student (undergraduate, masters, or Ph.D.) on or after December 1, 2023 at a university in the state of Florida. Recipients must travel to ASA FL Chapter 2024 and present their work in a contributed talk or poster session in order to receive the student paper/poster award. Winners will be determined by a committee evaluating the quality and scientific content of the submitted abstract and announced at the evening banquet. - Student and early-career statistician travel awards
The Department of Statistics at FSU is happy to provide up to three travel awards in the amount of $500 to help cover conference expenses. This award program is available to all students and early-career statisticians (who received their MS/PhD degree after 2018). To apply, please submit a paper (applicant must be the first author of the paper) that have not already appeared in a journal or accepted for publication as of February 15, 2024. Also, please be scheduled to present the same paper at the conference as either a talk or poster.
To be eligible for the Student and Early-Career Statistician Travel Awards, applicants must 1) submit an abstract for either a contributed talk or a poster at Florida Chapter ASA 2024 Meeting website and 2) submit a blind copy of the manuscript (with title and abstract) without author information or affiliation to the Student and Travel Award Chair, Xiulin Xie, at xx23d@fsu.edu. Submissions must be submitted by March 10th, 2024.
