Departmental Student Awards

Current departmental awards available for graduate students are listed below with descriptions:

The Best First-Year Graduate Student Award.  This award is given to the top first-year student(s) in the categories of Applied Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, and Computational Statistics.  Winners receive a certificate and an extra $200 in travel funds for presenting at a conference.

The Best Teaching Assistant Award.  Winners receive a certificate and an extra $200 in travel funds for presenting at a conference.

The Yongyuan and Anna Li award.  This award is given to the student who gives the best presentation of the year.  Winners receive a certificate and a cash prize.

Ralph A. Bradley award.  This award is presented for the best Ph.D. dissertation of the year.  Winners receive a certificate and a cash prize.

Newly created awards:

The Stela Verenca award.  This is a travel award for students who present talks at a foreign conference in Object Data Analysis related sessions.  The award comes with a certificate and a cash prize.

The Beca Sechter award.  This excellence award will be presented to the top graduate teaching assistants working for Mathematical Statistics-related classes.  The award comes with a certificate and a cash prize.
