With bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs, the Department of Statistics prepares students to apply mathematical knowledge to solve problems in a variety of social, medical, financial and ecological fields.

As one of the first state universities in the nation to offer graduate study in religion, the department still plays a leading role in training top tier scholars in religion. With four tracks of study, scholars are given the opportunity to hone in on their research area and expand their education through additional symposiums and lectures offered.

FSU offers one of the most comprehensive undergraduate religion majors in the country. Courses examine the array of religious cultures around the globe from historical, ethical, philosophical, cultural, and social perspectives. Students can study languages relevant to religious traditions, and they work alongside faculty on directed independent studies and honors theses.
