Multiple Tenure-Track Positions

The Department of Statistics at Florida State University invites applications for three tenure-track Assistant Professor positions starting in August 2026. These positions provide opportunities for engagement with the large undergraduate program and vibrant M.S. and Ph.D. programs in Biostatistics, Data Science, and Statistics.

Candidates with research areas in Biostatistics, Data Science, Statistics or related fields are encouraged to apply. The successful candidates will join a faculty with research expertise including machine learning, high dimensional data, network analysis, survival and longitudinal analysis, Bayesian analysis, shape/object data analysis, causality and data privacy, to name a few (see stat.fsu.edu), in a collaborative environment at a comprehensive, Carnegie Rl University. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, conducting research, and student mentoring.

A doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Biostatistics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching and academic research is required.

teaching faculty I Position

The Department of Statistics at Florida State University invites applications for a Teaching Faculty I position. This is a 12-month, non-tenure, entry-level position starting in August 2026. This position provides opportunities for engagement with a large undergraduate program and vibrant M.S. and Ph.D. programs in Biostatistics, Data Science, and Statistics in a collaborative environment at a comprehensive University

The successful candidate will teach in-person and online undergraduate and graduate courses, develop new courses to meet the changing needs of the discipline, and provide support to the department's academic programs and the Statistical Consulting Center. Candidates with research areas in Biostatistics, Data Science, Statistics or related fields are encouraged to apply.

A doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Biostatistics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching is required.
