James Stricherz has been selected to receive an Exemplary Service Award for his excellent performance in the field of technology services.

James is well-known throughout the department as being the go-to guy for any computer-related issue. To quote Dr. Xufeng Niu, current chairman, James is "an essential member of our department, being the only resource for hardware, software, and networking within the department. He advises and/or supervises the purchasing, installation, and maintenance of all aspects of the department's network. He is known for his ability to juggle the demands of an extremely diverse group of students, staff, and faculty; and perhaps more importantly keeping them content with the operation of the department computers network. James is a super team-player and maintains respectful, cooperative, and productive working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and other members of the University community." James also provides his services to the spring and fall department picnics as one of the grill-masters, which, while perhaps unrelated to the award, definitely proves how much of an asset he is.
