Bio:
Tommy was raised in the Chicago suburb of Addison, Illinois with his parents and two older sisters. He grew up with a strong interest in physics and was subsequently voted “Next Einstein” by his High School graduating class. In 2008 he began his studies at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois as a physics major. However, in the middle of his Junior year he changed his major to Economics and in 2012 graduated with his Bachelor of Science Cum Laude.

Tommy is currently attending The Florida State University where he is earning his Master of Science in Applied Statistics. There he works as a graduate teacher’s assistant for the Department of Statistics and the Program in Interdisciplinary Computing (PIC). His current research interests are Model Selection, Financial Econometrics, Computational Statistics, Time Series Analysis, Forecasting Techniques, and International Economics. He is currently researching methods for testing for a time-sensitive directional bias in high-dimensional random walks.

In his free time Tommy enjoys camping, hiking, classical music, cooking, and spending time with cats. Tommy keeps in close contact with his Chicago friends Vince, Andrew, and Wellington.
