Please click on the following link and save it to your desktop:
Annual Mileage Data
Now go to your desktop and double click on the JMP file.
This process will automatically start JMP and display the following dataset.
Now before we start notice that the data is broken up into two categories:
Annual Miles: Quantitative and Car Type: Categorical. We will need this information to make our box plots.
Click the Analyze menu and then select Fit Y By X.
The following dialog box will appear.
Click column Annual Miles then select Y, Response.
Click column Car Type then select X, Factor.
Your dialog box should now look like the following.
Click Ok.
Click the red down arrow next to Oneway Analysis of Annual Miles By Car Type select Quantiles.
