Mutual Fund Data
Now go to your desktop and double click on the JMP file.
This process will automatically start JMP and display the following dataset.
Click the Graph menu and then select Chart.
The following dialog box will appear:
Click the column Sector, and then click on Categories, X, Levels.
Click the column Performance on $10,000 principle then click the down arrow on Statistics and select Data.
Your dialog box should now look like the following.
Click Ok. The bar chart will then appear.
Finally, if you would like to display the percentage of the total each category represents, click on the red down arrow next to Chart and select Label Options then Label by Percent of Total Values:
Your bar chart should now look like the following:
Unaggregated Data

Car Data
Double click the file to open it. Notice that there is only a single column with 40 rows.
Making this bar chart will be fairly similar to making the bar chart with the mutual fund data. Click the Graph menu and select Chart. You will see the following dialog box:
Click the Column Car Type, then click on Categories, X, Levels.
Click Ok.
The following bar chart will be displayed.
Displaying the percent of the total that each category represents is done the same way as with the last bar chart. Click on the red down arrow next to Chart and select Label Options then Label by Percent of Total Values. The updated bar chart should now look similar to the following.
