\chapter{INTRODUCTION}
%label{chap:intro}

It is important to study both fundamental and applied problems in
physics and en gineering in the absence of the Earth's gravitational
force because a number of processes and phenomena are masked by
gravity driven effects \cite{re:walter87,re:koster90}. I n the absence
of gravity, or in an environment of minimum gravitational effects,
these various processes can be studied free of the complications
introduced by gravitational forces. In addition, if the benefits of
the low gravity environment are to be exploited for commercial
applications, then it is important that we gain a good understanding
of transport phenomena and fluid behavior in this environment
\cite{re:rath92,re:antar93}.

Since this is just a short example, I'm not going to put too much
into this file.
