Education
  • Ph.D., Applied Mathematics, Brown University, 2004
  • M.S., Computer Science, Brown University, 2003
  • M.S., Applied Mathematics, Brown University, 2000
  • B.S., Applied Mathematics, University of Science and Technology of China, 1998
Research Interests
  • Registration and alignment of functional data.
  • Statistical modeling and analysis of neural spike trains.
  • Statistical analysis of spectral/temporal features in birdsongs methods and real-time decoding systems for hand motion in motor cortex. The methods include state-space models, MCMC, adaptive Bayesian inferences, and informationtheoretic models. My recent work also investigates statistical representation of spectral/temporal features of bouts and notes in songbirds.
