Research Interests
  • My current research interests are varied. I have a
  • long-standing interest in geometrical probability, and in particular, in one-dimensional
  • covering problems. I am also working in the area of survival analysis (the analysis of
  • lifetime data). I have a particular interest in the modeling of spatial binary responses with
  • associated covariates. An example of this would be explaining the presence or absence of
  • a species at various sites on a map in terms of climate information (temperature and rainfall
  • covariates). Markov chain Monte Carlo techniques are useful in both survival analysis and
  • spatial models, and consequently I have developed a general interest in this topic. Finally,
  • I am interested in tests for detecting the existence of "interesting" structure in highdimensional data.
