This annual award was established in 2011 by Dr. Subhash C. Bagui in memory of his late parents,
Paresh C. Bagui & Khodan B. Bagui. This prize is awarded at the Florida Chapter
of the American Statistical Association's annual meeting.
The organizers of the Chapter's annual meeting select the winner based on their own selection
criteria. Preference is given to student speakers. In lieu of suitable student speakers, the
award candidate pool may extended to tenure earning faculty members.
In addition to scholarly recognition, the award includes a cash prize of $100.00.
Dr. Bagui is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and
Statistics at the University of West Florida. Over the years he has been very active in Chapter
activities, including serving as Chapter president, vice president and secretary / treasurer.
